When to use it

It is used to pass a line from one ship to another, from ship to shore or by rescue services. It can be used to pass a line to a swimmer in difficulty or to cross rivers or ravines. It is stored in the wheelhouse lockers or placed strategically around the vessel. NOTE: Never fire the rocket without a tow line attached.

Ideally, it should be stored in a sturdy and easily accessible place at room temperature.
