It features an improved grip for easy handling and complies with SOLAS 74\/88 as amended. The rocket propels a red flare attached to a parachute up to 300 m and burns for 40 seconds. SOLAS requires 12 rockets to be carried on the bridge of ships and 4 rockets to be installed on life rafts and lifeboats.
