Liferafts and survival equipment

Commercial vessels, pleasure and sport boats. UMS is the first liferaft service station to be authorized according to IMO Resolution a.761(18) in Uruguay. Our staff regularly attends liferaft factories to participate in technical refresher courses, receiving the corresponding qualification certificates.

Fire Protection Installations and Equipment

UMS is qualified to perform inspection, maintenance and certification of fire detection and suppression systems.

Fixed system type: Carbon dioxide -CO2, Chemical foam -AFFF, Water mist, FM200 or HFC-227, NOVEC 1230 and Dry chemical powder.
Portable equipment - Agent extinguishers: Carbon dioxide-CO2, Chemical foam-AFFF, Water and foam, Dry chemical powder-ABC, Class K for kitchens and Class D for combustible metals.
When applicable, pressure vessels -cylinders- are hydrostatically tested according to the applicable technical standards.

Laboratory

UMS inspects and repairs self-contained breathing apparatus - CABA and EEBD (emergency escape breathing device) equipment, calibrates gas monitors, pressure-temperature instruments and performs breathing air quality analysis on compressors.

Boats and davits

UMS performs maintenance and inspection of lifeboats, rescue boats, release and launching systems (davits, cranes, ramps). In accordance with existing legal requirements, service and maintenance of this type of equipment must be carried out annually and every five years by the manufacturer or by an authorized and qualified agent, with the necessary training and certifications.
