Approvals

UMS is approved by Prefectura Nacional Naval (Uruguayan Maritime Authority), Lloyd's Register of Shipping, DNV-GL, American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, RINA, China Classification Society, International Register of Shipping and Korean Register. The fire fighting plant, inaugurated on January 1, 2004, is approved by DNB, UNIT and PNN.

Coverage area

UMS is able to offer a complete range of services in the Uruguayan territory as a whole, service area (Montevideo Road), main ports of Argentina and the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).

Uruguayan Marine Safety was founded on September 14, 1978. Since then, we have specialized in the consulting, sales, and maintenance of rescue, survival, and firefighting equipment.

Backed by nearly five decades of experience, we execute every project with maximum efficiency, strictly adhering to the standards set by manufacturers, the IMO, the Uruguayan Maritime Authority (PNN), and leading international classification societies.
