A bus caught fire in the downtown area

A bus of the COETC transportation cooperative that was traveling through downtown on Monday at noon suffered an engine failure that caused a fire and forced the immediate evacuation of all passengers.
The vehicle stopped at the corner of Eduardo Acevedo and Colonia, when the driver noticed that flames were starting in the back of the bus. As El Observador was able to verify with the Fire Department spokeswoman, Mariela Vivone, it was a mechanical failure.
The fire quickly spread to the floor of the unit, also affecting the seats and the roof.
